This is one of the better books I've reviewed on this subject. Did a better job. If it had done a better job of warning people about invention companies and avoiding them I would have given it a 5 star.

Excellent introduction to inventing, manufacturing, licensing marketing, patents. Could have benefitted from a few more stories about beginners instead of people like the Dyson vacuum guy who made 5,000+ prototypes.

You will need a patent attourney to get your product patented, but this book gives you the "heads up" on what you need to do. I enjoy this book and keep reading it because it is very interesting ! Well worth the small price I paid for it ! Should be in your library.This is my opinion and I was not compensated in any way by anyone.

Received on time and in good condition. Not exactly the clear concise guide book that I was looking for, but helped.

Great information just very small lettering and very concentrated on each page. Because of this I haven't picked it up for awhile and I really need to. I guess it isn't a very interactive step by step that I was expecting. I feel more overwhelmed than before and almost want to quit and not even go any further with my invention/idea. I will try again. But the information I have read is invaluable and excellent I just need maybe a different print and page layout. I would recommend the book to everybody without ADHD.

This book is exceptionally informative. I have not read the entire book, but what I have read I am pleased with. There is much information about the processes of getting an invention patented, researched, marketed, and manufactured. Whomever buys this book will not be disappointed.

I have been a fan of Mary's music and writing for years now and like the headline says I knew I was going to love it because I always connect with whatever art she shares, sometimes in small ways other times in huge ways, this was one of the huge ways moment, for sure. Evelyn Is Made Up is my most favorite poem I have ever read and I have read thousands from Poe to Wilde and Maya Angelou to Anne Sexton, Rachel Mckibbens, Adrienne Rich ..well you get the picture I love poetry. Never have I felt more valid as a growing human who once made up a "normal" version of herself when she felt like she was either too expressive or not expressive enough, I honestly never felt more connected to a piece of writing than that moment and it will forever be special to me. All the poems are a treasure each their own and I know there is a trigger warning as it deals with hard issues that can bring about painful memories including rape but I feel everyone would get a deep bonding experience reading this poetry collection and the benefit outrisks the pain. If you are on the fence about getting it, please let me pull you over and convince you to take a chance on it, It's really special, deep, meaningful and rawly beautiful in a universal way.

This is by far my favorite poetry collection I read this year. I've always thought Mary Lambert was an amazing writer, singer, and general human, but I felt like I really connected with her through this book. She writes honestly and beautifully about love, friendship, abuse, rape, fame, and so much more. The day after I finished I ordered her other book of poetry, 500 Tips for Fat Girls, because I'm so eager for more. Highly recommend!

I was anxiously awaiting the release of Mary's poems and the book does not disappoint. Her poems are beautiful, truly, in the most profound and vulnerable way. She shares so much of herself and I noticed myself feeling empowered and somehow stronger. Brilliant read. I highly recommend this book.

I hesitated to read this book. I bought it the day it came out, and when it arrived, it was bittersweet. I have read every book by Peter Mayle numerous times. He is my favorite author, by far. Peter died January 2018, and I knew that this would be the last new Peter Mayle that I would ever read. I wanted to read the whole thing cover to cover, but I forced myself take it slowly and read it couple of chapters a day. I really did not want to finish the book, because I knew that he would never write another book. It lived up to all of my expectations. Like A Year in Provence, I plan to read this yearly. It is a great book, but there is a tinge of sadness between the lines, because I know what this was Peter’s last book.

Readers will once again be enthralled by his stories. The book read too quickly. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Mayle for sharing your life with us. Peter will be fondly remembered. Jennie, could you possibly write your take on your years in Provence?

This was one of the last books put to pin by Peter Mayle before his death this past January. While it is a collection of observations and experiences he encountered in this 25 years in Provence, it is a must read for any fan of his, just knowing it came from a man who had given us so much joy during those years.Having visited many times the area of Provence where he lived off and on over those 25 years I can attest to the accuracy of his stories and the many characters, markets, delicious foods and sights mentioned in this book. If you have never been to Provence make sure you read this book before you go, it will give you insight to the area, the people, food and scenery. While it is not a literary masterpiece, it was not intended to be, just a reflection of life and this man's ability to live it and share it with us dreamers and fans of the region.

A friendly easy read about a lovely place full of good food, good rose wine or anise flavored pastis all enjoyed at a leisurely pace, as it was meant to be.

As charming as his first novel, "A Year in Provence." I thoroughly enjoyed this book and took my time reading and savoring it. Peter still has his wonderful way with words. I highly recommend it.

It's a grand final chapter to the saga of Peter Mayle's experiences in the south of France.Weather based upon his first hand adventures or the stories that they helped him to create.He always made me feel that I had just had a wonderfully filling meal and got to listen to a great story teller.He will be missed but has provided us with many stunning memories.

So sad Mr. Mayle died as I have loved every book he wrote. He wraps up his adventures quite nicely.This book and his other non-fiction books along with his "Caper" books are not to be missed. They can be re-read many times over..

Easy reading with varied topics and idiosyncrasies throughout the year regarding people, daily habits and food. Very enjoyable in line with previous writing

All I can say is terrible stereotyping and some pretty disastrous dialogue. It was one GREAT BIG cliché story line with metaphors that were sledgehammers instead of pictures to guide the imagination. Drama, drama and more with some foreshadowing that makes me feel like the person who wrote the book is so far removed from being a young adult that they had some kind of willy wonka warped sense of what life for any teen could be like.I have read some pretty amazing YA over the past few years and this unfortunately was cringe worthy.EXCERPT:"Color leads me to the back of the store and stops in front of an archway that has no door, just a red velvet curtain hanging over the entrance. Above the curtain are the words "Adults Only." "This is the old porn section" she says. "Many a lonely soul wandered behind this curtain looking for comfort." Comfort?? Is that what we're calling it now?" Jesus smiles. "God I love to comfort myself." "Multiple times a day." Moss says, walking up behind us. I peek over my shoulder at him startled. Our eyes connect. He has the same gray eyes as Color. Moss bites down on a chip and says with his mouth full, "In your case, that is, Jesus.""It's important for the soul." Jesus pats his heart and then his hand moves down to his pants. "AND MY FROTHING WAND."My take is that with all the excellent and mind enriching YA out there why give a child this? I paid for it, my 5 Cent opinion, just as you have yours.

First of all, I don't remember the last time that I read a Young Adult novel but am so glad that I selected this one for my First Read selection for October 2018.For me, this novel contained all of the right elements and in exactly the right spots to make it a captivating as well as an emotional read. A family moves from Ohio to New Mexico and this is the location the novel begins.Esther is a member of the relocated family and is longing to find new friends. She is 16 years old and feels 'adrift' in her new location. Luckily, she meets some new friends (Jesus, Moss, Color and Beth) that are all experiencing growing pains of their own.Humor is interjected frequently that helps ease the reader through some truly difficult times. I thought that the 'Complex Math Problems' were a perfect addition to nearly every chapter. Witticisms abound and these problems/answers greatly added to the flow of the chapters.Truth or Consequences is the name of the town in New Mexico where the teenagers live and it also proves to be a most appropriate name. The author delves into truth, trust, faith, the relationship between siblings and parents, as well as letting go. Early love and the consequences thereof are also covered in depth.Four quotations that I felt contributed to this novel: "Best kind of love is simple', 'Pain is inevitable in life', 'Sometimes we just have to paint the walls and start over', and 'The Universe is always speaking'.Well written novel that has excellent character development. Toss in the humor, mix this with the angst of the teenagers and one has an 'awesome' novel....as Pastor Rick would say! Also, loved the Heaven hideaway the teenagers used for an escape.Most highly recommended.

I chose this book as my October free read because I really liked “The Odds of Loving Grover Cleveland” by the same author. The current book is a little similar in a sense that it features troubled teenagers and radiates plenty of empathy and optimism. I liked it a little less than a previous book but I definitely enjoyed it.The main plot circles around the teenage pregnancy but there is much more to the tale; the friendships, the parent-child and siblings bonds, the life compromises to be made, the broken families and the unbroken loyalties. The story is told in the first person by the 16 year old girl going through a very difficult period of her life. Depressed and alone at the beginning, she eventually finds herself surrounded by four friends, all of them with their own big problems. They cope with their tribulations by putting on a perky facades and engaging themselves in amusing conversations. They discuss love, sex, religion math and philosophy. The dialogs seem very authentic, just as they might be between 16 years old, intelligent but a little alienated kids. But despite their bravado talk, because of being so young, they have very limited life experience. Symptomatic of their youth is that when they discuss the questionable reality of the material world (what an amazing idea it is when you first encounter it as a teenager!) they do not talk about Plato but about a movie “Inception”.The book is loaded with amusing statements, some very simple and funny, some pretty deep in their nature. I enjoyed all of them but I can imagine that some people more sensitive about sex or religion may find them less amusing. My favored one was: “The glass is half full or half empty but is the glass really a glass?”I liked this book but keep in mind that it was written for young adults and from the point of view of 16 years old. If you are older you probably would have to remind yourself how you felt when you were 16. And then you will fully enjoy it.

"Holy Spy" is British author Rory Clements' seventh novel in his "John Shakespeare" series. The series books, set during the reign of Queen Elizabeth, are more similar to each other than not. All basically are concerned with threats to Elizabeth, both from within England and without. If the Spanish aren't sending an Armada off, then the threat might come - as it does in "Holy Spy" - from Catholic supporters of Mary, Queen of Scots. So the reader of all the Shakespeare books can assume Elizabeth and her survival are the plot points most often used.But Elizabeth I is not the main character in these books. Oh, she pops up every now and again, but "Holy Spy" and the others star John Shakespeare - brother of a certain writer of plays - and Sir Francis Walsingham, who is in charge of the Queen's security and intelligence operations. In fact, Shakespeare and others working for Walsingham are called "intelligencers" because they are agents of Walsingham, sent out to pick up intelligence. And sometimes, as in "Holy Spy", they are sent out to create havoc among Elizabeth's many enemies. In "Holy Spy", Shakespeare manages to infiltrate a band of Catholics who are plotting to kill the "usurper" (Elizabeth) and place Mary on the throne. History tells us that Elizabeth managed to survive all these plots and reigned for 45 years. Shakespeare is also trying to clear his former lover, Kat, of the accusal of plotting to murder her wealthy husband.So, if the plots are similar to each other, why do Rory Clements' books continue to be popular among readers of historical fiction? I think it's because with any good historical fiction, the discerning reader learns about the times and the characters - fictional and real - who made up that time and place. In fact, Rory Clements seamlessly weaves the real figures of the Catholic plotters and Francis Walsingham with the fictional John Shakespeare and his friends and helpers."Holy Spy" is a long book but an incredibly well-written one. The series reader returns once again to the Elizabethan age and is reunited with the characters so well crafted in previous books. "Holy Spy" is another excellent book in the series.

Some young and idealistic Catholic young men are planning to overthrow Queen Elizabeth I and free Mary, Queen of Scots, from imprisonment and place her on the throne of England. They are abounding with ideals but far lacking in planning and execution. Sir Francis Walsingham, the Queen's security and intelligence operator, sees this as a chance to rid England of Mary once and for all if he can get proof of her complicity in the plot. He tasks John Shakespeare to infiltrate the conspirators and gain that proof of Mary's complicity. John also has other problems as a former lover of his has been falsely accused of murder and is condemned to hang.This is another good John Shakespeare novel detailing life in Elizabethan England. I was disappointed that John's brother, William, did not put in a cameo appearance or at least get a mention. The characters are all well defined and believable. The dialogue also seems natural and to the point. The story flows along very well and is enjoyable reading. One feels a bit saddened that the idealistic, although foolish, young men were led to such tragic ends. But, that is based on true history.

I am depressed. I have loved every single book in this series and I think this last book was the best and now there is no more. I loved the portrayal of the Elizabethan period. He presented it in such a way that you could see it, feel it and smell it, and most of the time it was not very nice. The characters were great (the good and the bad) and the twists and turns were surprising and gut wrenching. I have read a lot on English history and especially of QE 1 and the times but this series made the period come to life. It was as good as watching the Elizabeth R series on masterpiece theater with Glenda Jackson. It is right up on par with that series.

In this continuing series, Rory Clements does a great job of characterizing Shakespeare's brother as an agent of good in a violent Elizabethan society. Working for Sir Francis Walsingham as a legally trained collector of information and intelligencer, John S. has to foil the catholic plots to kill Elizabeth I by infiltrating their networks of spies and sympathizers as well as tread a fine line appeasing the obsessive anti-catholic religious fanatics. Well done!

As usual, this story was top notch. I have enjoyed these John Shakespeare mysteries and I'm excited to have found them. I have read them all, albeit, out of order, and have not been disappointed. Rory Clements brings Medieval England to life (at times, a bit more realistic than I like) and I am fascinated with his characters. I am looking forward to John Shakespeare's next adventure.

This was another of Mr Clements' well researched and written historical mysteries. It revolves around the time of the Babington plots against Elizabeth I but also involves a murder that has been laid at the feet of the protagonist's former lover, and the intrigues of trade and criminality in that time. I enjoyed the plots within plots and the flavor of the times that this author imbues in his work

I have read every John Shakespeare Mystery and found every one of them a reader's treasured mystery. As you get better acquainted with John's closest friends, you become more intimate with the stories, from the first book to the last book. It's quite a pleasant and delicious experience and I loved it all!

The fact that I have read several of these mysteries is my testament to the quality of the writing, development of characters in a period of history full of intrigue. Hope there are more. I am a fan.

Overall an OK book on cultures of Sri Lanka, except a few things:Incorrect facts:==========On pg 34 of the 2012 edition, under section ‘Modern History’ it casually mentions the defeat of the Tamil Tigers in 2009 and the civil war coming to a ‘close’.- does not mention the death of at least 40,000 civilians who died. (reality the figure is much higher)Thank God I was able to learn the Truth after watching the Award-winning video #documentary by British Channel4 news at:NoFireZone.org which also had the international reviews.3. Does not mention the destruction of one of S.Asia’s cultural institution, the Jaffna Library, where approx. 90,000 volumes were intentionally burned!Legend?!?=====Pg 94, 2012 EditionI'm surprised that the Publisher let the following QUOTE slip through: Especially this ridiculous 'Legend' demonizing the minority Tamils.“Sri Lankans have woven many legends around Kataragama. One tells of the Hindu war god, Skanda or Murugan, arriving in Sri Lanka and looking for a place to stay. He went first to the Tamils, who turned him away.
