I have a flower garden and love to paint. Now I will be able to paint my flowers and be proud of my work. Easy to understand and follow. I am in Mn., so I have not been able to set up outside to paint yet. I am looking forward to it though. I have some beautiful Rock Star bearded iris's I want to paint. Purple and yellow in color. They are also huge. It will be a while before they bloom.

Beautiful quality images of flowers for learning how to paint with oils/acrylics. Very good sequential instructions. This book helped improve my flowers markedly.

Overall I found this a delightful picture book for an advanced student. I found it more informative regarding flower nomenclature than I did painting. I recommend Basic Flower Painting Techniques in Watercolor (Basic Techniques Series). I realize that watercolor and acrylic are different mediums, but the technical descriptions are far more effective, informative, and educational. Wish I would have borrowed this from a library rather than add it to my own.

This is exactly what I was looking for; easy to follow steps and examples. I would definitely recommend this book to my artist friends.

Great book and well worth the money. I wish there was another like it with different flower subjects such as small bouquets with step by step illustrations showing the mixture of colors used to achieve the final outcome. The book was in excellent condition and I have read it twice and feel ready to start one of the flowers now.

This book gave me steps to remember and use on any painting. Love the books and the realistic flowers are great. I will use it time and time again, and have already painted a rose.
