Chelle's past has really clouded her present and doesn't look like anything will brighten her future. Dmitri is justas iffy when it comes to dealing with his feelings for Chelle. Both are at odds with their own personalities. Chelle'stotally wrong assumption of Dmitri's and Luka's relationship is one to make the reader smile. And Luka's reactionto this revelation is hilarious. Luka does prove his friendship to Dmitri by stepping up and confronting the jeweled dragon. It takes a while to find out the history of Chelle's hangup but once discovered understanding comes. She carried such a heavy burden of guilt. Not as intense as Lord of Winter but I did like this one. I was first given this as an ARC but Internet connections were terrible for me at the time of the offering but I did purchase this book when I had the opportunity.
Dmitri, bodyguard ice dragon shifter, has woken, with his two compatriots, after hundreds of years in ice. Waking to hot pockets, television and microwaves, he's had a steep learning curve in the modern world. But when he meets Chelle, his human mate, that is something he understands. This story follows Dimitri and Chelle as he tries to understand her defensive posture and she tries to ignore her attraction to Dmitri. After a run in with another dragon, Chelle better understands her feelings. Fortunately, Dimitri is a patient (& sexy) man and helps Chelle overcome her past and look to their future.
This book was an emotional rollercoaster that I couldn't get off. I cried both sad and happy tears. I laughed and loved along with the characters. Dimitri and Chelle were amazing together. You really felt the love and tension between them. I am enjoying all the characters in this series. Seeing the Sapphire dragon again was an exciting twist I did see coming but totally enjoyed. I look forward to the next book in this series and I will have my tissues ready. This was such a great book.
A good 👠book. I do not like 👠the graphic sex scenes but like the story line. I would like stories that leave bedroom scenes in the bedroom
I enjoyed this book, but there is quite a bit of sadness involved in the heroine's development. It's not a subject a lot of romance writers are willing to touch. Wounded people can often be quite selfish as their so involved in their own needs, that they miss the point in which now they've become the one inflicting pain.
There was a lot baggage with the girl that was his mate, and with the last Dragon that was his friend, after they got it worked out then it took forever to get to what the real matter was. Also glad to see that one of the germ Dragons found the Frost Dragon and will help them start a new life
I love all of Terry's Dragons. When I read the "Lord of Winter" I was disappointed to find no reference to the other Dragons. In my mind that should have been included. So when this one joined the ranks I was most pleased!! Although I would have continued to read,because Terry is so good at what she does.
Nice plot, less tension than I like. Just a getting to know you story. I prefer a “can’t put it down†read, this is a pleasant part of the journey read.
