I really enjoyed learning about Hindu Mythology. As the author stated the myths can get quite confusing and I was confused at times. The myths were great tales that held my interest.

Interesting read. I had to take notes because there were so many new names and terms in the understanding process. When I finished, I went back and reread and really enjoyed it!

Wonderfully written. Goes great with The Ramayana which I am reading. It helps add more of a backstory to some of the characters.

Awful. Really just a list.

I have yet to read it,but highly disappointed to see zero images of the Gods. That would have been nice.

I am glad to read this book as I new next to naught about the Hindu Faith

Kindle Unlimited but got it on a freebie day. This is one of several that deal with Mythology, look at very bottom of the list, counted 8 different ones {with this one}, quite interesting.Explore Captivating Hindu Myths of Hindu Gods and GoddessesThe stories in Hindu myth stem from traditions within Hinduism, drawing on stories from ancient texts, like the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Keep in mind that because different versions of Hinduism inspire different people, many different versions of the stories float through the jungle and over the stones of temples and traditions. The stories in this volume are my version, though I’ve stuck as closely to the original myths and legends as imagination allows. At the end of this book, you’ll find a short bibliography for further research and reading.Within this book, you'll find the following Hindu myths coveredLord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and the Beginning of the World - The Birth of Lord Shiva - Saraswati & Brahma’s Fifth Head - Shiva Tests Parvati - Shiva Snares a Whale - Shiva Skips Success - Ravana’s Ten Heads - The Birth of Rama -Urmila’s Slumber - Deer of Deception - Hanuman’s Torch - Suvannamachha Steals a Bridge - Hanuman Moves a Mountain - The Final BattleSita’s Purity - Krishna Steals Butter - Krishna Trades for Jewels - Krishna Swallows the Flames - Vayu Humbles the Silk Cotton Tree And more!Nikola Tesla: A Captivating Guide to the Life of a Genius InventorThe Culper Ring: A Captivating Guide to George Washington's Spy Ring and its Impact on the American RevolutionAlexander Hamilton: A Captivating Guide to one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of AmericaAaron Burr: A Captivaing Guide to the Life of Aaron Burr and the Most Famous Duel in American HistoryThe Duel: A Captivating Guide to the Lives of Alexander Hamilton and Aaron BurrMartin Van Buren: A Captivating Guide to the Man Who Served as the Eighth President of the United StatesWorld War 2: A Captivating Guide from Beginning to End (The Second World War and D Day Book 1)D Day: A Captivating Guide to the Battle for Normandy (The Second World War and D Day Book 2)The Second World War: A Captivating Guide to World War II and D DayWinston Churchill: A Captivating Guide to the Life of Winston S. I consider these types of books a bonus. Like I’ve said in other reviews I’m somewhat familiar with Greek , Roman , & Egyptian mythology. But, I knew absolutely nothing on Hindu mythology . So, I consider this book as a way to further my knowledge on another cultures myths.Since one of the earlier civilizations started in the Indus Valley in India naturally myths would arise as related to beginnings of this culture. We see two tribes coming together with different belief systems which led to the beginning of Hinduism.. All their thoughts & beliefs led to traditions that are still prevalent today in Hindu society.Highly recommend this book as a soourse of new knowledge or add to if you already know something about it . I love the fact that a bibliography is included to further preview reading & research .Once again, the Captivating History staff delivers big time!
